Spicy Crab

Seafood adalah makanan favorit saya dan suami, biasanya sih saya hanya memasak udang atau cumi. Sejak menikah saya dan suami jarang makan seafood di luar karena selain harganya lumayan mahal, proses pengolahannya kadang tidak bersih 🙁 padahal tau sendiri laut di daerah jakarta kaya gimana >.< Pas weekend si suami minta dimasakin kepiting. Karena daging kepiting dari sononya sudah gurih dan enak, dimasak dengan bumbu minimalis pun sebenarnya sudah enak. Biasanya saya hanya merebus kepiting dengan potongan bawang, itupun suami sudah lahap sekali makannya 😀 Kali ini saya ingin mencoba variasi lain. Berhubung suami suka pedas, jadi ingin mencoba membuat kepiting saus pedas. Resep ini hasil eksperimen saya dengan bumbu-bumbu yang ada di dapur.. Spicy crab a.k.a kepiting balado :p

Kepiting Balado - Spicy Crab

Bahan :

  • 2 ekor kepiting , belah dua,bersihkan
  • 3 siung bawang putih
  • 1/2 bawang bombay, cincang halus
  • Jahe, parut
  • 4 buah cabai merah
  • cabai rawit (sesuai selera)
  • 3 sdm saus cabai botol
  • 1 sdm saus tomat/tomat dihaluskan
  • Merica, gula, garam secukupnya
  • 100ml air

 

Cara memasak:

  • Rebus kepiting yang sudah dibersihkan. Sisihkan setelah matang
  • Haluskan bawang putih dan cabai
  • Tumis bumbu halus, bawang bombay
  • Masukkan saus cabai dan saus tomat
  • Masukkan air, didihkan
  • Masukkan kepiting yang telah direbus
  • Masak hingga kuah menyusut dan mengental

Seafood is one of me and my husband’s favorite food, usually i only cooked prawn or squid. Ever since we are married, we rarely eat seafood outside because it’s to pricey and sometime the cooking process isn’t hygienic 🙁 as you know, Indonesian sea is not really clean nowadays, especially in Jakarta area

In the weekend my husband said that he wanted to eat some crab. Because crab is originally has delicious and savory taste it can be cooked only with few spices, usually i just boiled it with chopped onion. This time i wanted to try another variety. Since my husband like spicy food, i tried to make spicy crab (kepiting balado or kepiting saus pedas). Here is my experiment result in the kitchen :p

Kepiting Balado - Spicy Crab

Ingredients:

  • 2 crab, divide into 2 parts and clean it
  • 3 onions
  • half green onion, chopped
  • ginger, minced
  • 4 red chili
  • 4 small chili (if any)
  • 3 tsp chili sauce
  • 1 tsp tomato sauce
  • Pepper, salt and sugar
  • 100ml water

Steps:

  • Boil crab, put aside
  • Blend or smooth the onion and chili
  • Saute spices and chopped green onion
  • Pour chili and tomato sauce
  • Pour water and boil
  • Put the crab and cook until the sauce is thicken
